The Layered Earth: Software Application
As an independent consultant, I provided visual design and art direction services to my client, Simulation Curriculum Corp., as they built their new Geology educational software application, The Layered Earth, for students in grades 9 – 12. I collaborated and iterated with the product director, software engineers and stakeholders. I was responsible for creating the product logo, color palette, supporting imagery, the main user navigation and a variety of icons. I also developed a style guide for UI components.

Home and Student Lessons Screens
The home screen and student lessons screen for “Earthguide”. I created UI components such as the unit icons and navigational icons on the right.

Navigation for Individual Lessons
Example of the student lessons breadcrumb navigation UI. I worked with the development team to provide a clear path for students to navigate to individual geology lessons and content.

The Product Logo, Start Up Screen and Lesson Unit Icons
I designed “The Layered Earth” product logo. I also created the application's start up splash screen, including the stylized illustration of the Earth. The illustrations for the lesson unit icon set were also part of the project deliverables.

Data Sheets for Print
I designed print support materials for the product, including this 4-color data sheet.
